Serving Muskoka Since
22+ YearsBased at
Stephenson 1 Rd E, Huntsville, ONA Lesson Learned on
Muskoka Falls Road
Huntsville, Ontario โ Since 2002
Marcy Dennis started Advanced Roofing Muskoka in 2002 after years of roofing work across Central Ontario. Muskoka was a different job from the first season.
Early in the business, Marcy replaced a roof near Muskoka Falls Road in Bracebridge. The shingles went down straight. The job looked complete. That following winter, ice dams returned to the same spots along the eave. Water entered the attic again.
Marcy went back to find the real problem. The attic ventilation was still failing. The shingles were fine. The system underneath had never been fixed.
“Every roofer in Muskoka knows what ice dams look like. Not every roofer knows why they keep returning to the same house year after year.”
That one job changed how this company works. Since then, not a single roof has gone down without a full ventilation check first. It takes more time on every project. It prevents the same problem from returning the next winter.
Muskoka experiences a humid continental climate with winter temperatures averaging between -13 and -5 degrees Celsius. Temperatures cross the freezing point repeatedly from November through April. Moisture seeps into cracks during thaw, then refreezes and expands. On a roof, that process destroys shingles, rafters, and decking from the inside. Marcy learned that by working here, not by studying it.
A Roof Built for
Mississauga Will Not
Last Here.
Muskoka sits on the Canadian Shield. Freeze-thaw cycles, open water wind, and 20,000 vacant seasonal properties create conditions most roofing guides are never written for.
Frost behaves differently on Shield geology. Structures settle differently. Roof lines shift on older cottage frames in ways a flat suburban lot never produces. We account for that on every job.
Wind off Lake Muskoka and Lake Rosseau hits west and north faces hard. A waterfront property on Lake Joseph faces conditions that a home on Beaumont Drive in Bracebridge never sees.
Over 20,000 waterfront properties in Muskoka sit closed from October through April. Nobody is watching when flashing pulls away in January. Small damage becomes major damage by spring.
Two Types of
Muskoka Property Owners.
Homes on Local Streets
Families on Ecclestone Drive and Wellington Street in Bracebridge call us when shingles fail after a hard winter. Homeowners near Brunel Road and Chaffey Street in Huntsville reach us after summer wind events off Fairy Lake.
Residents near Bethune Drive and Mary Street South in Gravenhurst come to us for full replacements on older homes. They want a local contractor who answers the phone and tells them the truth.

We inspect those roofs. We send dated photos after every visit. We write a condition report covering what we found, what we recommend, and what happens if nothing gets done. You read it from wherever you are.
No other roofing company in Muskoka states this directly. We do because it is exactly how we work every season.

We Inspect First.
We Tell the Truth.
We Do the Work.
If your roof has five good years left, we tell you that. We do not push a full replacement on a roof that repair can fix. Your job runs through our crew from the first inspection to the final cleanup.
We have been in Muskoka since 2002. Most of our new calls come from neighbours of past clients. That does not happen when a company cuts corners.
What Homeowners
Ask Us First.
We are based on Stephenson 1 Road East in Huntsville. We work across the Muskoka district year-round. We are not a Barrie or Toronto company that drives north for jobs.
Yes. We access properties by road and by dock. Remote lake properties on Lake Muskoka, Lake Rosseau, and Lake Joseph are a regular part of our work every season.
Yes. We send dated photos and a written condition report after every visit. Most of our cottage clients manage their properties from Toronto and the GTA. Remote inspection is standard for us, not an extra service.
No. Every job is handled by our crew from start to finish. The people who inspect your roof are the people who fix it.
Marcy Dennis founded the company in 2002. We have completed over 2,000 roofing projects across the Muskoka district since then.
We install asphalt shingles, standing seam metal, cedar shake, flat roofing systems, and specialty products. Material choice depends on the property, the exposure, and the budget.
